Our beneficiaries list is growing, and this year we have donated to local area schools, as well as local AIDS-related charities. We are in the rebuilding process and are looking to donate to other local non-profits, as well as one major non-profit with a national focus. This year’s list includes:
Western Colorado AIDS Project – We donated to and created a new partnership with WestCAP this year. WestCAP serves persons living with AIDS/HIV and their families with information about risks, prevention and treatment in our area. They provide complete confidentiality and their staff is dedicated to providing the most complete, accurate information available. They charge no fees for their services, which are provided without regard to age, sex, race, religion, disability or sexual orientation.
Aspen High School – We donated to Aspen High School in hopes that they would start a gay-straight alliance at the school. They have taken steps in that direction and had two meetings during the 2008-09 school year! Basalt High School – The RFGLCF was able to donate funds to downvalley high schools, which pooled their resources and put them toward a diversity training program which focuses on training students to be able to diffuse situations of homophobia, as well as racial and bullying issues. Roaring Fork High School – The RFGLCF was able to donate funds to downvalley high schools, which pooled their resources and put them toward a diversity training program which focuses on training students to be able to diffuse situations of homophobia, as well as racial and bullying issues. Glenwood Springs High School – The RFGLCF was able to donate funds to downvalley high schools, which pooled their resources and put them toward a diversity training program which focuses on training students to be able to diffuse situations of homophobia, as well as racial and bullying issues.
